Kawanee Central School

Spectacular photograph of an older woman weaving a long braid with her wheel.  A large bundle Cabinet card of the Kewanee Central School.  This photograph was identified for us by a member of the Kewanee Historical Society, which now has a copy of this image.  The school is undergoing repairs, as illustrated by the five men and a their wagons.  One wagon contains long boards, some of which one of the men is carrying on his shoulder.  Two gaping holes are seen in the foundation on the far left.  Under magnification the bell rope hanging in the tower, which would be used to summon kids to class, can be seen that.  The image is in excellent condition with a minimal amount of surface wear seen at an angle.  By Strong, Kewanee, Illinois.
